The BRAUSA Intercultural Program Dream

 

Part of the BRAUSA vision, since the creation of our club, was to offer our players a life changing experience in Brazil by the 5th anniversary of our club. That goal was accomplished by year three and was made even better in year four!

Our intercultural exchange program has been enhancing the lives of not only our players and families, but also the lives of our native Brazilian friends that have partnered with us through this unique experience. Since 2017, we have brought over 25 youth Brazilian players to experience a touch of the American Thanksgiving season in our homes in Baltimore and on the playing field.  Over 50 BRAUSA players and their family members have embarked on an experience of a lifetime to the Land of Futebol Passion & Happiness, Bahia, Brazil.

Through these international trips, our players have had the first hand experience of living the life of a youth Brazilian 1st division player. Our BRAUSA players received the same training provided to these players and have competed against several world renowned Brazilian clubs while in Bahia. These experiences have allowed select elite players the opportunity to be recognized by academy scouts and have deepened their experience through extended stay, train, & compete in international tournament events.

Just like in BRAUSA, our international player exchange program goes way beyond soccer. Our program was designed to expose our players and their families to the rich and colorful culture that Brazil is known for. The experience of engaging with the local community through tradition, diversity, food, dance, and spirit has set our program apart. While lodging with comfort and security at one of the most beautiful beaches in Bahia, our players step into the lively historical streets of the first capital of Brazil. They feel the beat of the Salvador drums in their hearts as the heat of the Brazilian Sun warms their souls!
